Day 44 Rest Day 8

I woke at my usual 6.30 and dozed until 7, when I got up and dressed and made my way downstairs for breakfast. Breakfast is a help yourself affair so I enjoyed my cereal and toast (with peanut butter, a first for this trip).

My room just before everything was tipped out on the bed.

Next port of call was the washing machine, everything except the clothes I am wearing is now washed and dried in the sunshine as today is hot and sunny. Otherwise I have been trying to work out routes and accommodation across Cheshire to the start of the Pennine Way at Edale.

Kington, quiet in the sun

I bought a sandwich and some cherries for lunch, then read for a while. My feet still hurt so I am going to cosset them with another bath. Then I think I’m going to have to wander round Kington taking a few more photos as I have only taken two today.

Wild thyme photo from a few days ago. I now know several banks where wild thyme grows…There was quite a bit in Cornwall as well

My plans for more photos were scuppered twice by heavy showers. I stayed indoors instead. My B&B is above a Walking Shop. That’s a shop for walkers, not a mobile shop, which was closed today as my landlady runs it and she is at a trade show. I took a photo of some of their old boots to make up for the lack of photos of Kington. Tomorrow I am meeting a friend in Knighton so will once again have company.

No longer walking boots
