As last time, my rest day started almost the minute I arrived as this apartment had a washing machine. Wearing only enough clothes to keep myself decent, I put everything else into the machine and now I possess a clean, washing powder fragranced wardrobe. This morning I put the rest of my clothes in to wash. Small pleasures.
As with my last rest day, I have done almost nothing. My step count which is usually well over 30,000 is less than 2000. I have slept a lot and read a bit. I’ve plotted my route for the next two days as sadly, there isn’t a guidebook to Rose’s Journey across Exmoor, and I’ve eaten. What I haven’t done is take photos… so here are some pictures of yellow flowers. I’m saving the other colours for next time I have no photos.

I’m enjoying learning all about the flowers!

It’s been really lovely seeing them all. I’ve also enjoyed the birds and wildlife too.

I’ve seen a lot of stonechats and a pair of choughs, and some wheatears. Probably other things as well but they just look like small brown birds!

Oh, and I forgot -I saw a pair of shelducks with their shelducklings. V cute, if a bit far away (saw them from the Long Bridge at Bideford).
